I’ve posted some photos which I hope will share my personal vision and fascination with Bowood.
For me Bowood is about the hidden treasures that are so easily missed. The rich textured tree trunks planted with a huge history of their own, growing and twisting through the centuries creating the most wonderful deep surface undulations. It’s the lichen colouring the organised ornamental stonework creating patterns in time not designed for or planned by their maker.
Bowood is full of energy and life, large and small and it’s defiantly the smaller picture that has grabbed my interest and is leading me on to experiment and interpret those finds back in the studio with clay.
